This works awesome. I have a HP Pavilion Dv5000.
The biggest problem I have (and this is not going to be a problem for everyone) is that it is too short! I put my old charger and the new one on the floor to measure the difference. My old one is almost two feet longer than the replacement one. Luckily the only part I needed from the new battery was the just the battery and the cord that is connected to the battery. I took the outlet cord from my old one and plugged it in the new battery and it works fine and i have a LITTLE more length to work with. This is mostly a problem for me beccause all the desks and seating areas in my home are high up, or awkward positions so I would have to keep my laptop at the very edge of my desk or table just to the new charger can reach an outlet. Or if I wanted to sit on my bed and charge it; with the new battery it didn't even touch the ground. It just stretched out from the outlet to my bed(which is seriously an arm reach away) dangling in the air waiting for a 3 year old to play limbo with it. I'm not even kidding how much of a problem the length was for me.
That being said, I still recommend it but proceed with caution.
